Ashley Smith

can we even cope with how pretty and perfect this texas gal is? she has done the runway for Holly Fulton, Christopher Kane, Altuzarra and Top Shop Unique already for the spring 2011 shows and is appearing in magazines everywhere ... pushing the accelerator on sexy and those mesmerising eyes and too die for body. literally.. i am done.

Organic John Patrick

delightful dressmaking, easy wearing and encompassing forever. add a sprinkle of tomboy and lots of nostalgia, the romantic colour palette gets me thinking i need a tea party this spring on the deck with my girlfriends sharing lemon iced tea and vanilla cupcakes. just plain pretty.

Rodarte Spring 2011

and finally some images..
the most beautiful button up barely mint shirting with cut out sleeves ever.

love this print. the socks. the pumps.

say no more.

twenty seven names

i forgot how pretty the look book for twenty seven names SS 10/11 was. echoing youth. romance and understated pretty.

tough love

This bottega veneta look is one of my favourite seen today. In lieu of the trends noted in NY, London and Milan including mostly minimalism, white on white, print on print, lace, more lace, and plenty of classic ladylike dressing, my inner rebellious tomb boy was delighted to find a dangerous look paired with a killer clutch and un-done bed hair. seductive. yes. thankfully sex appeal is injected back into spring wardrobe. as if it could have ever replaced.

Erdem

so in love with this blood red lace Erdem dress which transports me to a stratosphere that is filled with only elation .. it screams romance and rock and roll. dangerous, sweet and effortlessly mesmerising. the most flattering neckline, sleeve length and perfect cinched waist, this was my favourite look in the SS 11 collection. and those shoes! this look completes my search for the perfect poetry that is beautiful toughness. i need to have this dress so much.

preppy nerd

so sweet. this whole look. devoted to deranged preppy and the sophisticated geek. i heart these mustard platform heals too. a perfect contrast to the simplicity of the lilac shirtdress.

Doo.Ri

Whilst many designers are fleeting the minimalism trend, more accurately, minimalism gone monochrome, i have not yet found one i was excited about until i reviewed Doo.Ri. She has created each piece so beautifully..not over done, over styled or over thought. as it should be. the minimalism era suggests simplicity and longevity, it does not need any complication but should retain a practical element as this trend has usually stemmed as an afterthought from a recession era. Doo.Ri has injected a fresh interpretation creating interest with her clever use of textures and impeccable structure and tailoring. this is how i would wear minimalism. and actually love it.

mustard and blue hues

i had an obsession early this week when i paired my mustard mohair isabel marant knit with a cobalt blue pair of skinny leg jeans and suede black isabel marant booties.. i was so excited with the combination of colour choice that i could hardly take my outfit off. it was exciting to see the band of outsiders were also drawn to this updated urban interpretation of colour block, sprinkled with a little 70's flair in their recent SS 11 collection. understated but screams confidence. and now to find a pair of red desert boots .. big love.

pleating

love the simple understated pleating also noted in the shows. a fresh new pleat refined and most flattering on silk and in print or nude hues. the Suno printed pleat is my favourite. i would wear with a huge oversized black knit jumper.

A Detacher

In lieu of minimalism, and dressing to please the opposite sex, A Detaher has created interest through sculpture, texture and provide an artful and accomplished look. My ethos is satisfied.

3.1 Phillip Lim SS 11

It was perfect. a collage of his best creations. echoing practical and adorned with fashion. there was something for every phillip lim girl in this collection. the precision was immaculate. the design was studied. there was a wide array of textures including leather, silk, organza and tulle. however artfully constructed and styled, it became sensible and cohesive.

Karen Walker SS 11

My favourite playful designer karen walker made my heart flutter with her true to self collection .. her preppy tomboy has grown up a little this season.. with the buttoned up shirting and colour palette of navy, mustard and burnt orange, providing a fresh interpretation and new sophistication to the karen walker girl. sweet.
