Flawless capsule

AW 10 Fashion week is officially over however with the snaps from the streets of Paris now circulating,  it has provided me a renewed enthusiasm to heighten my expectations for my own personal dressing this fall and beyond. Impeccable, gracious, bold, daring, personal... every day style is a not negotiable. Celebrate and love the plethora of individuality. Images selected from The Sartorialist and JacKandJil.

Sculptured architecture

Tough tailored pieces, incredibly Avant-garde yet credibly commercial, Haider Ackermann's ingenious take on wearable couture for AW 10 is nurturing the cult status loved by both art and fashion fans. No doubt the highlight pieces will be an editorial favourite with creative surprises spotted through his use of zips, impressive structural pieces and beyond imaginary collar work. The entire collection was cohesive and daring, sexy and powerful.

Pretty has grown up

During a season where Gothic Glamour and Modern Military has become the staple of runway, it was refreshing to see an injection of eye candy colour into the summer frock creating an ever so grown up prettiness with ultra feminine silhouettes. A perfect juxtaposition, toning the fairytale frock down with brown or canvas belts, chunky accessories as well as non-chalant sock filled pumps will give it the edge for all those modern romantics who refuse the typical fairytale outfit. Choosing which shade of pastel would be torturous. LOVE.

Uncomplicated Luxury

These girls are the next big thing in luxury fashion where their understated and effortless approach to dressing coupled with their choice of luxurious fabrics including lots of leather, fronts up to the world stage, all at their remarkable young age. The Row is unassumingly edgy without trying too hard. Timeless. This fashion label is my new Stella and Chloe who appear to have blurred the lines loosing their differentiation with parallel aesthetics and collections.

Whimsical wonderland

Erdem's frolic with the notion of the perfect frock has made it utterly impossible to select a favourite look as the entire collection was insanely adorable, flawlessly polished yet youthful enough to make every piece a lust after dream. The richness in the almost surreal colour palette and array of prints exuded opulence and elegance however teamed up with the delightful lace up boots, the Erdem lady shows a humble un-conventional attitude to playing dress ups with couture. I heart Erdem.

Rustic beauty

The Vanessa Bruno latest collection exhibited an array of inspiring tailored pieces not without a disheveled twist and pop of colour. There was something perfectly tomboyish about it with the uncomplicated use of layering and overall understated styling which takes my mind away on a day trip to the french countryside.

Parisian 50's Rocker

Isabel Marant AW 10 collection has moved away from the traditionally relaxed and carefree aesthetic we all love and created a more polished 50's rock chic with as just the right amount of grown up lady injected into her classically urban cool styles. Followers will already get on the next big waiting lists around the globe... pointy suede bow pumps, sequenced capri's and fur. Whilst there did not seem to have an obvious highlight look in the collection, it presented homage to parisian effortless styling which is enough for me!

Indulgent Contradiction

There is only one man who can take current trends, pioneer new ones, keep classic pieces, provide a freshness, design for comfort, yet maintain the drama, it is Dries Van Noten with his AW 10 collection. My four favourite looks showcase how all these contradictions are effortlessly composed, where sweatshirts are draped over printed silk skirts and where minimalism has been coupled with high glamour. Something very attainable and completely uber cool about it.

Non-Chalant Cool

There is something completely disheveled, understated sexy and utterly urban about the Alexander Wang Spring Summer 2010 collection images that makes us all want to under style with simple neutral tones and effortless hair. Edita Vilkeviciute is the epitome of non-chalant cool.

Urban-garde

Alexander Wang's A/W 10 collection epitomised ingenious. The designs have been cultivated from prior seasons whilst staying true to the urban aesthetic with a new avant-garde variation. It presented a cohesive array of both colour and texture offering an unusually sophisticated approach to his suiting and evening, with the androgynous factor offered throughout to cause this growing cult of followers to yearn for more.

Modern Goth

There is something perfectly polished yet incredibly edgy about the Proezna A/W 10 show. Refreshingly risky with the choice of digital prints on a plethora of seductive silhouettes, the collection had an energy unparalleled in New York this season. The admiration adorned by all is warranted more than words can describe.

Effortless Sundays

This Boy by Band of Outsiders double breast blazer radiates a nostalgic reminder of effortless styling of the yesteryear where minimalism meets ladylike whilst celebrating a pop of colour. Timeless.

Primal Tribal

Givenchy Spring 2010 has artfully executed modern tribal best where the classic haute couture house has skilfully translated the contemporary interpretation into a triumphant youthful ambience reflecting modernity and leaving all elated. The proportions are enviable and the drapery beyond flattering.
